Find and Explore

Find data you need, either by searching or browsing the catalog by category. Kasabi provides detailed information about each dataset, and presents a “report card”, about what is in each set. There is also in-line documentation to help you get at the data, and information on each API right in the page.

Data can be accessed through a range of APIs, which you can explore from each dataset page, or see the API documentation for more details.

Publish Data

  • Create your own Dataset
From your dashboard, you can create new datasets for Kasabi.
  • Configure your Set
Select licensing, document the set for developers, and choose sample resources.
  • Upload your Data
Use the browser to upload RDF files, or point at an RDFa URI to pull data into your set.

Publish Data

Make your data available using Kasabi’s hosting platform for any open data. From your dashboard (hint: click you your name) you can create a dataset, select a licence, and use the browser or our management APIs to upload your data. Kasabi is built on Linked Data, so any RDF file can be uploaded, or you can point to a webpage with embedded RDFa. You can test the data, and add documentation before making it public, then choose when to publish as soon as everything is ready.

Coming soon: Commercial data publishing options.

Build your own APIs

  • Each set has default and contributed APIs
  • From any set, simply click: "Create API" to get started.
  • You can store a SPARQL query as an API, or create a new Linked Data API configuration.
  • Set up your query, and give it a descriptive name.

Build your own API

Can’t find an API that matches your application? In Kasabi, you can contribute your own using our API building tools. These let developers create customised RESTful APIs that capture ways of querying or navigating across a dataset, producing results in a variety of built-in and custom formats. All contributed APIs are listed in the catalog, along with automatically generated documentation, allowing them to be shared with the rest of the Kasabi community.

Data Publishing in Kasabi

Kasabi brings together providers and developers around data. It’s a place where developers can find interesting and useful datasets and providers can explore ways to make their data available. As part of our community, we encourage a shared understanding of data curation, reuse and licensing. You can read more about the community norms we are working towards.

Connect up to the developer network via our Google Group, share ideas or request data using the knowledge base, or drop into the #kasabi IRC channel on freenode.net.
